A 6d check from the Country House Inn (obverse)

The Country House Inn stood in Catherine Street and was demolished in 1942. This 6d check obverse showing men playing billiards is believed to have been used in billiard competitions. Henry L. Elworthy was landlord of the pub in the years 1832-42.
