Fireplace surround with delftware tiles

The fireplace surround may come from Bradninch Place. It is of pine and dates to c.1710-30. The mouldings below the mantel shelf enclose a swag of fruit suspended from ribbons.

The delftware tiles are imports from the Netherlands and date to c. 1700-15; they were recovered in fragments from a house in Bartholomew Street.
