The Custom House and Quay

Spreat's view shows the area in the mid 19th century, following the opening of the Canal Basin on the opposite bank of the river. The Custom House is right of centre, with the Fish Quay to its right. On the left are buildings on Shilhay, an area with wood yards, a coal quay and bonded warehouses.
