Neckpiece

Little archaeological evidence survives to suggest what the Roman soldiers wore around their necks. However, it is likely that a piece of material was worn at the neck to prevent the body armour from rubbing. Finds of brooches are common on Roman sites which may have been used to pin the material together.

This image shows a modern reconstruction suggesting a possible use of material and brooch.
