Reconstruction of the main block of Higher Barracks

At the top of the sloping site of Higher Barracks formerly stood this fine symmetrically-designed block with the central doorway and pediment, with the Royal Arms of England, built in the 1790s. Sadly it was burnt down in the mid-19th century.
