Turner’s view of Exeter

J.M.W. Turner painted the view, of which this is an engraving, at the time that Colleton Crescent, the large building at the centre of the scene in the middle distance, was newly completed. It shows how prominent - perhaps shocking - an addition it was to the Exeter skyline.
