Six Exeter crowns (reverses)

The reverses of Exeter crowns displayed the Royal Arms of England within a scrolled frame, surrounded by the legend 'CHRISTI AVSPICE REGNO' - I rule under Christ's auspice. At 12 o'clock on the legend is the mint mark of Exeter - first a rose, then a tower or the letter Ex. The earlier issues (1643-4) are undated, but later coins bear the dates 1644 and 1645.
