A bank note test piece (front)

This five pound note for City Bank, Exeter, is probably a printer’s test piece or a proof. The front of the note is shown here. The note is unused, and it has been printed on a piece of scrap paper. City Bank was one of Exeter’s longest lasting banks and was eventually amalgamated into NatWest.
