A carved board from 170–1 Fore Street

The board shows a length of symmetrical scroll design with pairs of animal heads and rosettes, and with one of the lion masks in higher relief which would have separated the motifs along the board. The original position of the board is not recorded, but it probably came from the house façade. Small fragments of polychrome paintwork survive on other boards from the house.
