Old houses in South Street

The pair is typical of the more modest houses of early modern Exeter, with oriel (projecting) windows on the first and second floors, and with narrow slate roofs between the storeys. The drawing is by the local artist George Townsend, who recorded the buildings prior to demolition in 1855.
