The alms dish of the Bow Meeting
Back to Time Period![The alms dish of the Bow Meeting](/includes/thumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/objects/Golden-Age-Alms-Dish-Exeter.jpg&w=500)
Among the Dissenters' meeting houses was the Bow Meeting in Fore Street, near the parish church of St John Bow. It did not have so thriving a congregation as the James and George Meetings, and this may explain why the Meeting commissioned an alms dish of pewter rather than silver.
