The alms dish of the Bow Meeting

The alms dish of the Bow Meeting

Among the Dissenters' meeting houses was the Bow Meeting in Fore Street, near the parish church of St John Bow. It did not have so thriving a congregation as the James and George Meetings, and this may explain why the Meeting commissioned an alms dish of pewter rather than silver.
