Exeter from Exwick

The painting by C.W. Bamfielde is dated 1750. It shows prominently the lines of trees in which the Georgian city took much pride. The cathedral still retains the lantern on the north tower; to its right is the bulky Norman tower of Mary Major church in the Close.
