A Palaeolithic implement

This implement was found by Tim Taylor and Phil Harding of the television programme 'Time Team' whilst they were walking on the banks of the river Exe; it was embedded in gravel. It has been roughly knapped from a dark brown greensand chert pebble. The edges are lightly rolled, indicating that the artefact has been transported by water from its original deposition site.
