Neolithic flint axe fragment, St Bridget’s Nursery, Topsham
Back to Time Period![Neolithic flint axe fragment, St Bridget’s Nursery, Topsham](/includes/thumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/objects/Flint-axe-Topsham-Devon.jpg&w=500)
The re-flaked axe fragment comes from a polished Neolithic axe of light grey flint whose original form will have been much like the polished axe found at Waybrook Cottages, Alphington. After it broke it served as a useful piece of raw material from which other tools could be fashioned.
