Neolithic flint axe fragment, St Bridget’s Nursery, Topsham

The re-flaked axe fragment comes from a polished Neolithic axe of light grey flint whose original form will have been much like the polished axe found at Waybrook Cottages, Alphington. After it broke it served as a useful piece of raw material from which other tools could be fashioned.
