Hooked fasteners
Back to Time Period![Hooked fasteners](/includes/thumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/objects/Saxon_hook_fasteners.jpg&w=500)
These hooked fasteners of copper alloy are of characteristic type of late Saxon artefact. Each was pierced with three holes, through which stitching must have secured them to a garment; the exact way in which they were used is, however, uncertain. Each of them shows some ornament: concentric circles in the examples to left and centre and circles with additional rocker decoration to the right.
