Flints from the Ludwell Valley

Back to Time Period
Flints from the Ludwell Valley

This series of Neolithic flints of c. 4000 - 2000 BC was found in 2000-2 by Mr Ray Thompson of Wonford. They show the area in which they were found was quite intensively occupied in the Neolithic period. Most of the flints are waste from the production of tools made on the site. The raw materials must have been carried to the site from various flint outcrops in east Devon.
